Smiles Everyone! Smiles!

Field Assignment:

Welcome back to D.C., agent. We’re tasking you with a surveillance mission that requires a keen eye and discretion. Monitor Russian oligarch, Alexi Morozov. He’s on “vacation” with and his family. Keep your distance and try not to raise suspicion. Get photos. Monitor. Dress casually to avoid standing out.

Morozov is known for attempting to influence U.S. officials through financial incentives. Be on the lookout for any signs of meetings or interactions that might suggest he’s looking to engage in similar conduct in D.C.

How it went: Perfectly fine. I got photos. Spotted those chance encounters. Took down names. My slacks got a little dusty from the mall grounds. Can I get my wardrobe budget increased? If I’m going to consistently nail the tourist look, I need more options! Huckberry has some some great spring shirts that should work.

Agent Fit:

It’s a camp shirt with colors and a bold pattern that contrasts well with the simple wide cut khaki 60’s vintage military officer’s paints. Secondary colors in the shirt match work with the tone of the pants. Canvas sneakers add in a pop of a third color. Olive green military belt does its job without claiming too much attention. Rise of pants creates an appealing ⅓ to ⅔ proportion.

Photo Notes: I like this simple background with leading lines. The warm muted tonal colors of late-day sunlight on concrete work well with this outfit. The sunlight is approaching the golden hour.

Fit Sources: J Crew top and Converse sneakers scored second-hand from ebay. Pants: 50’s era Military officer’s trousers and belt are from Dr. K’s Vintage. Shades David Beckham line.
